Our history 

We have been together for 17 years now and married for the last nine of them.

Being together for so long, from a young age (well Lisa was) has meant we have been through so much. Lisa has worked hard on her old carrier in merchandising, to reach a very high level and I have been working hard in plumbing and renovating the houses we have lived in. As we got older we seemed to be spending less time together and more time at work, we were driven by money and having lot's of material possesions. We also wanted to start a family but was having no luck as well.

Then we saw an advert in one of the news papers, asking for three families to give up their old lives for a year to live off the land. ITV was going to  film the three families for a year and make a programme called the real goodlife. We saw this as an opportunity to try to change our lives, so we applied to ITV for a chance of being one of the famalies.

We went through a long selection process and were finally chosen in january 2005 to be one of the famalies. Once we had been chosen Lisa and I decided that we would take it very seriously (unlike the other famalies) and see if we could really do a modern day Tom & Barbara 

We spent a whole year being followed by ITV filming everything that we did, it was a bit of a pain having a camera with you all the time and we are glad when it finished. It was really embarrasing when it went out on telly, as people would stop us in the street, though only to tell us that they enjoyed watching us make a go of it!! Which was really nice.

When the filming had finished Lisa and I decided that we had enjoyed our time together so much that we would give up our old job's and try to have a go at living of the land for real! We also decided that we should move to Devon and set up the farm, we have alway's wanted to move to Devon (we even got married here). ITV thought we was bonkers to give up all that money, but we really believed that it could work and more importantly help us start a family.

 We moved to Devon at the end of October 2006 and have started to set up moon farm, we have never looked back!!!
