Animals are a lot of work, but they will give you much enjoyment and food, if you are that way inclined! We chose to keep chickens, they became part of the family, we sold all the surplus eggs. Also we chose the rare varieties of hens carefully, so that we had many coloured eggs (blue, green, chocolate brown and white). We could then charge a premium for these mixed coloured eggs.

Demand for our eggs has been so great that we are now going to start breeding our own hens, this is for the following reasons

Cost, instead of buying rare breads, which are quite expensive we are going to buy in fertile eggs for a fraction of the cost and hatch our own hens.

Money, the more hens that we breed means more eggs to sell, which means more revenue.

Selling, we are also going to sell rare breed hens as well, as they can be difficult to find and as mentioned expensive.
